And another year is over. That went real quick!
I finished 38 books this year, which is a little more than last year. It could have been a lot more but I only finished 2 books during the last 2 months as I was way too busy.
Dystopian / postapocalyptic books: 3
Children's books: 2
It's no surprise that most books were Fantasy stories. No Thrillers this year though - I started a few but didn't get hooked on any.
Most read authors in 2015 were Brandon Sanderson with 4 books and Stephen King & Terry Pratchett with 3 books each.
The best books I read this year are easier to pick than last year.
Uprooted by Naomi Novik
Fool's Quest by Robin Hobb and
Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson
All of them exceeded my expectations and were still on my mind a long time after I finished them. I read a few other very good books but those three are definitely the best this year!
I finished only 1 series this year - The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg, which is a trilogy and very recommendable if you like short, sweet magical tales.
On the other hand, I started 10 new series :D Oh my.. But a few of them I will not continue and 2 are re-reads. The actual number of new series I started this year and will continue is 4. And one of them I am not sure about yet, so it is not too much!
Unfortunately I picked some pretty awful novels to read this year. The worst books were probably
The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson and
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
Not worth it!
Also, I read this really weird book called Temptation by Selena Kitt. It's actually a trilogy but I only read the first one. Oh my, I picked it because I am into forbidden relationships/ age discrepancy in relationships-books and similar stuff.. Teacher/Student sometimes as well.. But this book is ridiculous :D Lesbian action between school-girls and best friends until one of them falls for the other one's father..and he for her as well. And then drama starts and all kinds of weird sex scenes in public places. Sure, lets get it on at the restaurant table, no one will notice... Or yay, your daughter is sleeping next to us right now..wanna have sex?
Also, daddy has a secret porn room and I won't even talk about the ending and the secret that is revealed... because it's gross! Don't read it!
At the moment I am reading 3 books:
MaddAddam by Margaret Atwood (53/474)
Mort by Terry Pratchett (43%)
Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan (46%)
Maybe I will finish one of them this year but I won't count on it.
If it stays like that I will go into 2016 with 2 books TBR:
The Girl in the Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz and
The Falcon Throne by Karen Miller
Yayy, one less than last year, I am getting good at that :)
